Are Black Beans Ok for Dogs?

Black beans are healthy and suitable for consumption by your dog. It contains high amounts of vitamins such as vitamin K, vitamin C, and manganese, as well as plenty of fiber and protein. Always pay attention to the amount of salt your dog eats. Due to this, give your dog only freshly cooked beans. Firstly, soak the beans overnight before cooking the next day. Are Kidney Beans Ok for Dogs?

Kidney Beans are healthy and suitable for consumption by your dog. They are rich in antioxidants to help maintain healthy cholesterol levels and keeping free radicals at bay.  

However, the raw form of these beans should be kept away from your pet. It is only the cooked beans that you should give to your dogs.  The raw form of these beans contains phytohemagglutinin, which is toxic and harmful to your dog. The following are signs that your dog is poisoned by phytohemagglutinin; Drooling, Diarrhea, Lethargy, Loss of appetite, Vomiting, Abdominal pain.

Are Pinto Beans Ok for Dogs?

Just as in the case with kidney beans, avoid giving raw pinto beans to your dog. Only home-cooked ones with full control of the number of spices added into it should be served to your dog.

Are Baked Beans Ok for Dogs?

No, Baked Beans are not suitable for your dog to eat.  First and foremost, many homemade and canned beans contain a lot of sugar, which can lead to blood sugar problems and excessive weight gain. But most importantly, baked beans are usually made with garlic or onion powder, which are both dangerous for dogs.  

Are Refried Beans Ok for Dogs?

Refried beans are not suitable for consumption by your dog. The main reason for this is because they are packaged in cans, and therefore, they contain several preservatives that are not safe for your dog to eat. Secondly, they are also prepared with spices like garlic, salt, canola oil, and chili powder, which are harmful to dogs.
