JUST Retrievers, by Chuck Petrie, is a beautifully presented book of hunting retrievers, mostly Labrador retrievers, in all sorts of hunting situations.
Some of the pictures are downright cute, while others are of the dogs doing what they do best - retrieving. Some are of puppies, from the wee small ones to the half grown ones, but all totally irresistible.
There are Labbies stealing a drink of Coke, Labbies in mid-air, Labbies playing with the family cat, Labbies sneaking a ride in the back pack and Labbies that have fallen to sleep in their food bowl. And of course there are golden and Chesapeake Bay retrievers as well.
Published in 1997, this is a book for the retriever connoisseur. Some of the photographs are quite amazing in their detail, such as the ones in the water ... every drop of water that flew a little further than the rest is frozen in time for the world to see. A book that you could leave on the coffee table for visitors to thumb through, or keep it for your own use to go back to time and time again. - EP
