Scout meets Bruce - his
new service partner

Bruce and Scout learn to play and work together
Life is not all work - Scout shows Bruce what he can do when a plastic disk is thrown for him ... an exercise that keeps him fit, as well as giving enjoyment.
Scout snatches a snooze after agility practice
Scout hopes that nobody will notice if he sneaks away for a short nap, but keeps his head out of the tunnel in case of a call.
Lunch time is good for forty winks
Well, a guy has to take a nap sometimes and what better than 10 minutes or so after a lunch time snack!
Scout shows how he can sit on command
SCOUT was most enthusiastic on the day he met his new service partner. He seemed to know that this would be the person he was assigned to help in the years to come, and greeted his first joint training session with a huge energy.

Scout liked Bruce from the moment they met, and from indications so far it seems they are very well matched to make the most use of the areas of assistance where Scout excels.

For the next few months they will train together, learning each other's physical limits, finding out what is expected of them and when - and when they have established their routines and perfected their training skills Scout will go home with Bruce to start his new life.

Scout learns to observe closely in case he has to fetch things from the bench for his new service partner. He will learn the names of many items he may have to fetch, and when he moves into his new home he will be constantly adding to his list of recognised items.

Scout watches a task he nust perform
A few more lessons, and everyone can go into the garden for some agility challenges.
Bruce and Scout were friends from the start
Bruce and Scout do a lot of bonding work in the first few weeks until they are relaxed and comfortable - then the real work begins for both of them.

Right: Scout learns to 'come' and 'sit' and all the other basic commands that he already knows - but this time with Bruce giving the orders.
