New course offered
in canine health

MASSEY University will present a new canine paper in 2002. The paper Canine Health and Husbandry will complement the long-standing Principles of Canine Behaviour paper which Associate Professor Kevin Stafford has delivered for the last 10 years.

Both papers are delivered extramurally by correspondence. Each year around 80 to 100 people take the behaviour paper and it is hoped that many who have successfully completed that paper over the years and who want something more will enrol for the husbandry and health paper.

The husbandry and health paper will have five modules; kennel and breeding management, nutrition, genetics and genetic diseases, common diseases and first-aid and behavioural problems and management.

There are no formal prerequisites for these papers but knowledge in general science, biology and written English will be an advantage.

If you are interested contact Elizabeth Norman or Vicky Erceg c/o IVABS, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand (tel 0064-6-350-5329).
