IN July, Canine Partners announced that Terry Knott, chief executive of the charity, is stepping down from his position at the end of September after seven years at the helm. He is to be replaced by Andy Cook.
During his time as chief executive, Terry has made a tremendous contribution to the ongoing success of Canine Partners. Over the past seven years, the charity has tripled its output of highly skilled assistance dogs, establishing its National Training Centre at Midhurst in West Sussex and a network of active satellites across Great Britain, including development into Scotland.
Terry Knott said: “For the past seven years I have had one of the best jobs in the world. It has been a joy and a privilege to work for Canine Partners with such a dedicated team, but now is the time to move on and allow my successors to carry forward the banner. The charity has a very bright future”.
Andy Cook is widely known and respected throughout the assistance dog world and brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the position, which has already benefited the charity, since his appointment as director of operations in 2006.
Chairman of trustees, Simon Clare commented, “We pay tribute for the tremendous contribution that Terry Knott has made to Canine Partners. He has dedicated his time and energy into helping move the charity forward and we wish him all the best in his retirement. At the same time, we are delighted that Andy Cook will be taking up the role of chief executive and we look forward to an exciting new chapter in the development of Canine Partners".
