AT first glance this may seem like an expensive book - but it is not when you realise that you get a hardcover book on training plus a full 60 minute DVD - how could anyone go wrong with all that information? I found some parts of it were covered excellently, but some of the chapters could have been more detailed. Over-all a valuable resource for anyone trying to train a dog or puppy of any age, and a combo that encourages the amateur to do better and not be discouraged if the puppy doesn't catch on when it is first shown the behaviour that the owner wants to see.

Along with information, hints, stories and exercises this book gives you a number of games for your puppy to play, starting at level 1. These games are what we commonly call brainwork and nosework - the kind of games that build your puppy's intelligence, give him confidence and improve his scenting abilities. They also help to build a better relationship with the puppy's owner.

This book could be called the ultimate "puppy training for dummies" as everything is explained with pictures, and of course with the CD as well it is so easy to follow through and repeat until the moves are perfected. This is one purchase that I think is well worth buying and likely to become your most used daily help. - EP
