FOUR Paws Kingdom Campground is the first and still the only dog-dedicated campground in the United States. It is currently celebrating its fifth season – and is going stronger than ever!

It took only four seasons for hospitality consultant Meik Bartoschek and his wife Birgit, a world well-known artist and dog trainer, to establish a new way of camping with your fur-kids. Since opening in June 2004, Four Paws Kingdom, located in Rutherfordton, NC, has become the premier destination for dog lovers from all over the country.

Being a one-of-a-kind place, featuring seven off-leash dog parks and playgrounds, agility and rally-o sports rings, a swimming pond and tranquil creek park, doggie bathhouse and grooming stations, acres of hiking trails, seminars, agility and obedience training classes, a doggie gift boutique, dog art gallery – plus a full service campground on top of that, Four Paws Kingdom has established itself as a “must visit place” for every dog enthusiast.

“This year, 2008, will be our strongest year ever” says Bartoschek, “and with a wide variety of events, trainings and agility boot camps in the mix, we are confident that Four Paws will see more than 5000 canine visitors from as far away as Washington State. Even if you don’t own an RV you can still enjoy our services, because we welcome dogs in our cabins and rental units as well.

Four Paws Kingdom will also celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Four Paws Kingdom Foundation (a 501 C-3 National Heritage Foundation) helping local shelters, rescue groups and humane societies to educate pet owners and help strengthen the human-canine bond.
