Coat to fit bulldog
difficult to find

The Bulldog has a wide frame and stocky build
The bulldog has a wider and thicker frame than other breeds of its height, so understandably coats made for 'average' dog height would not be wide enough.
Hello,
I would like to buy a coat for my dog. I have an English bulldog and it is very hard to find a winter coat that fits him properly.

Although I have taken his measurements and followed specific measuring directions that varry from company to company, when the coat arrives, they still don't fit him right (in the neck and chest area). I am wondering if you know of a coat that would be more suited to his body type? Perhaps you know of a brand or comapny that makes custom clothing that would fit him?

I do appreciate any help as I've had him for fours years, and each year it's a struggle to keep him warm with an appropriately fitting coat.
Thanks. - Lisa

Hello Lisa,
Well, I don't know much about the manufacturers of canine overcoats, but have been searching the web and these two sites may be of some assistance: http://www.handsnpaws.com/category/pugdogclothing/ and http://www.bulldoginformation.com/bulldog-clothes-apparel.html

One is clothes for pugs and bulldogs and the other for bulldogs only. I think it may be that other clothes don't fit bulldogs because a bulldog has a lot more flesh and muscle on the chest than other breeds of its size. I hope the sites are a help to you and if not, a few readers with bulldogs may be able to send in some more helpful information. - Ed
