Book review:

Buried in the records

By Dave Pratt

A good mysteryTHE Yellow Labrador steals the show in this fast-paced little mystery novel. And isn't that just what you would expect from an author who shows in agility trials and shares his life with two horses and four dogs (an off track rescued greyhound, Australian shepherd, teacup terrier and schipperke puppy)?

"Buried in the Records" features Alex, a well trained but under-achieving yellow Labrador. Author Dave Pratt set Alex square in the middle of the action as hospital auditor Bill Deming stumbles across an old flame, a new love and a medical murder-for-profit scheme that threatens his job, his romance and his life.

"Dogs - I love them! It was fun to include good old Alex in this story. But I wasn't prepared for his overwhelming popularity with readers - he will definitely be back in the sequel," author Dave Pratt shared recently.

Dave Pratt is a native of most of the west coast of the United States and has freelanced as a writer since 1977. He is a retired Army officer with 20 years' experience in hospital administration and a background in military intelligence – and he understands the healthcare industry, with all its wonder, personalities and hidden dangers.
