World small animal congress:
'must attend' event for vets
THE 32nd World Small Animal Veterinary Assn Congress (WSAVA) 2007 will be held at the Sydney Convention Centre at Darling Harbour, August 19-23. The Convention Centre is within easy walking distance of many hotels, apartments, restaurants, shops and attractions such as harbour cruises, the Sydney Aquarium, the IMAX theatre, the Chinese Gardens and the Powerhouse Museum. It is a brief walk or monorail ride into the city centre for more fabulous sightseeing and shopping.
The scientific programme committee co-convenors, Dr Jill Maddison and Professor David Church, are internationally recognised speakers and leaders in veterinary medicine. They have used their collective experience and contacts within the international veterinary community to ensure that the scientific programme is of the highest standard. There will be four full days of lectures as well as a pre-congress day with at least eight streams a day and at least 23 different topic streams. It will include state-of-the-art lectures, and lectures pitched at both generalist and advanced level so that there will be something for everyone in small animal practice.
The social programme will be spectacular. The Opening Ceremony on August 19th will be followed by the 'laying of the dust' a great Australian tradition where travellers wet their whistle (have a drink or two!), make new friends and catch up with old friends. During the week there will be many other opportunities to meet new and old friends at the Australian night, the gala dinner and the grand finale.
The scientific programme is shaping up to be one of the best and most exciting ever. With over 70 speakers from 10 different countries and from all around Australia, there will be 240 hours of outstanding continuing education for small animal practitioners. The programme will cover all the main themes of interest to small animal practitioners.
You are encouraged to submit your abstract and be part of this important event. The Scientific Program Committee invites submissions for:
