There are only two copies of this brilliant book left in stock at Amazon.com, but more are on the way. This is a reflection on its popularity. However, there are 10 used and new copies available from $100.00 at Amazon online shops.

Amazon information informs us that this book provides "practical, clinical data on the viral, bacterial, fungal, protozoal, and parasitic infections found in dogs and cats in the UK" - and with an introduction like that what else does one need, that description is complete.

Published by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association it does target practitioners and students, but the language is still easy to understand and the book well worth the investment with a large number of illustrations to explain each particular disease more fully.

But a word of warning - it does make one realise what a large number of nasties there are in the United Kingdom and it does make you start scratching if you read the parasites section of its 288 pages too intently! But as a book that dog or cat owners or breeders would keep handy to expand on their knowledge of infections, it is not to be beaten.

Well edited, design and layout maximised for ease of access, and good descriptive illustrations mean this book is good value for money. - EP
