The IVIS website was created in 2000 and has grown into a comprehensive information platform for animal health that includes veterinary e-books and proceedings of major international meetings. Every day, more than 9000 veterinarians, veterinary students and animal health professionals consult the IVIS library. Membership increases by over 5000 new registered users each month and has now reached over 175,000 members.

IVIS has set a target of 200,000 registered users by the end of 2006. While we do not want to create a chain letter of sorts, we would like to ask each IVIS member to think of ONE colleague who may not be familiar with the IVIS website and encourage him/her to explore this wonderful resource.

Some will already use IVIS but others may not. If everyone contacts one colleague in the next week, IVIS may reach its 200,000 member goal in the next few weeks. Reaching that target may be the best show of appreciation for the hard work the many volunteers and professionals have put in to make the IVIS website such an incredible resource.

For more information or to become a member of IVIS and benefit from the huge information resources offered just email info@ivis.org or visit the website www.ivis.org.
