Labrador mum to stray kitten

Skye with kitty
Kitty receives an adoring lick from her adoptive mum.
SKYE, a black Labrador, really thinks this kitten is her baby and looks after it well. The kitten is thought to be a female but so far has no name other than Kitty.

Skye had nine pups in December and they were about five weeks old when the photos were taken. She was then still feeding her pups as well as the kitten, one of two found among long grass where some trees are planted.

Kitten feeding
Hungry kitten takes her turn at the bar.
The kittens would have been only about three to four weeks of age and not wild at all. There was no sign of a mother cat although Skye's owners looked for a couple of days. It is probable that someone dumped the kittens as they were so starved. This was the one that survived. The second one never regained its strength. She is very friendly and has baby blue eyes.
