AS many of you know, Korea is a terrible place for dogs and cats. There is terrible abuse, torture and cruelty that occurs to our companion friends.
Currently there is a proposal to legalise the dogmeat trade through what is termed "hygeinic controls" yet there is no clear definition of what this term really means. All that we can recognise from this is that by legalising this trade it will allow millions more dogs and cats to be slaughtered and tortured and to be raised as food. Consequently there will be no stopping the cruelty to support primitive, uneducated and mythical health benefits. The belief is that if a dog is raised for food, beaten, hung and tortured to death it will cure impotence in man (perhaps this act reveals more about either the lack of self-confidence or the prevalence of impotency in Korean men? - Ed), and if cats are beaten in hession sacks and boiled alive it is supposed to cure rheumatism and arthritis (one would have to question the intelligence level of people engaging in such acts and beliefs. - Ed).
We are all the voices of the abused and you can help by simply signing this petition and please circulate it as widely as possible to everyone you know in Australasia and further afield.
