THIS Search and Rescue and Service Dog Day includes awards for outstanding service to humanity. The keynote speaker will be renowned primatologist Dr Jane Goodall DBE, UN Messenger of Peace.
The event will be held on September 17, 2005, 10am-5pm at the Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum, NYC Harbor Pier 86 (46th St).
This event will recognize heroes of the two-legged and four-legged varieties as well as showcase all kinds of service dogs from guide and therapy to military, customs and companion dogs with an emphasis on Search and Rescue (SAR) dogs and Federal Service K9s.
Last year's event was the largest service dog event in United States history. The event is hosted by The Bear Search and Rescue Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization established by the law firm Proskauer Rose to provide training, equipping and transport of both canine and non-canine SAR teams across the country and to provide health care to all SAR K9s that worked at Ground Zero and the Pentagon after the 9/11 disaster.
Some exciting events planned for the day are the keynote speech by primatologist Dr Jane Goodall; awards for two-legged and four-legged heroes; service dog demonstrations; and new products, booths, samples and Information. Don't miss it!
