A FEW months ago, we announced to our ROLDA newsletter readers that our education programme for kids is successful, especially in two local orphanages.

In one of those orphanages where kids are living terribly, in misery, three lovely girls (16-18 years old) proved that their love for animals is unconditional.

Gina is one of them. She is doing volunteer work at our veterinary clinic, helping me to transport the dogs in treatment and after sterilization, helping our vet to clean and do either minor jobs, everything directly related to work for animals!

Gina is a little over 18 years and she said me one day that she has a special wish to ask me. I thought she needed a personal favour or something. She was sad, telling me that she is forced by a commission to leave the orphanage. She doesn't want to hear of her family, her biggest desire is to find a job but nobody is going to hire her because of her illness, so she doesn't know what she is going to do, but her special wish was that she has two special dogs at the orphanage that "will have nobody once I'll not be there any more" and she asked me to take the dogs to our shelter!

Gina's life was a long line of tragedies that nobody would ever want for their enemies, but still she found the power to think not for herself but for her furry protégé, that will have nobody once she will be gone!

Golden hearts cannot be measured in money or personal interests. I know kids of Gina's age that have totally others things in their mind, not animals. It is the pure and anonymous souls that are making the difference without asking any glory and merits in return!

Gina saved three dogs from a sure death and helped a few others. She brought 10 dogs in for sterilization in the past year and has done alone (through our vet. office) more than others pretend to do in my country for animals.
