A CLASSIC tale of canine faithfulness and loyalty, in the tradition of “Lassie Come Home” and “The Incredible Journey” and based on a true story.
In 1923, while on a family road trip in Indiana, Bobbie, a two-year-old Scotch Collie is separated from his owners and lost. After an exhaustive search, the broken-hearted family returns to their home in Oregon never expecting to see their beloved dog again.
Six months later Bobbie appears on their doorstep. Mangy and scrawny with feet worn to the bone, he shows all signs of having walked the entire way back, alone.
Through Bobbie’s eyes and words, we experience his incredible ordeal crossing 2800 miles of plain, desert, and mountains in the dead of winter to return home. We learn of the people who helped him along the way and of the dangers he encountered. We are there through his meteoric rise to fame after his return to Silverton.
The subject of newspaper articles, books, and even film, Bobbie gained fans throughout the world and earned him the title of “Wonder Dog”.
