Dear Pat,
I have a sweet little Labrador who is three years old and I have had her for six months. She was a rescue dog and had suffered a lot of abuse in her early life. She is well socialized now and I have taken her to dog obedience classes.
She behaves very well and I have no complaints about her behaviour. But, whenever she is with other dogs she somehow seems to always end up being victimized or threatened, even by the most harmless dogs. She seems to bring it on in some way.
I'm sure she doesn't mean to, but some of the dogs that threaten her I have know for years and never seen them behave that way towards other dogs before. Is there anything you can suggest I could use to help her? - Sonia Goodwin
Dear Sonia,
It sounds as though the homoeopathic, Staphysagria 1 M, would be ideal for your dog. It is a homoeopathic we use for dogs who have both been abused in the past and who still seem to easily become victims. I would give her one dose a day for up to 3 days and then wait and observe any changes. - Pat
Dear Pat,
My dog is due for an operation shortly and I had heard that you can give them something to help them recover well. Can you give me any information on this please? - John W
Dear John,
I would use Rescue Remedy before and after the operation. Put this in the drinking water a couple of days before and then for several days after. I would also give him/her a dose of Arnica 30C (homoeopathic) the day before the operation and for 2 or 3 days following the operation. These two things should sped up recovery very well. - Pat
