Book review:

Successful Dog Breeding

By Chris Walkowicz and Bonnie Wilcox D.V.M

Responsibility the themeHERE the authors, one a breeder of note and the other a veterinarian, leave the reader in no doubt that breeding dogs means that the breeder/owner is responsible for the puppies produced for their lifetimes.

And that applies to any number of litters produced. The authors point out that many things can go wrong with a pup's health or with the new home found for the pup, and whatever the circumstance the situation is the breeder's responsibility.

Successful Dog Breeding is a book for the first-time breeder and for the long-time breeder, no matter what the breed. Information covers almost every possible situation associated with breeding and whelping and it is presented in an easy-to-understand and often humorous way.

Responsibility is the theme of this book that puts it way up near the top of the pile for its consideration always of the pet over-population problem.

Perhaps the most helpful of all dog breeding books, this one has the added bonus of being easy to understand. It's easy reading and following.
