Who can say their dog
doesn't need training?

A DOG training seminar with Nina Bondarenko (BA, behaviour trainer, trainer of international award winning dogs, television presenter, specialist in difficult and dangerous dogs, puppy professor programme, programme director for Canine Partners for Independence) is planned for early December this year.

The seminar will be held on Saturday December 6, 2003, at Clayton Community Centre, Northwood Lane, Newcastle-under-Lyme at 9:30am-4:30pm.

Lunch break will be held between 12noon and 1:30pm. Bring plenty of treats for your dog, a collar and lead and your dog's favourite toys. Water is supplied for your dogs. Tea, coffee and biscuits are supplied for humans.

Payment of £40 per person is required at booking, or £20 per person if you are not handling a dog on the day. For details and to book a place please contact Nicole Mackie, ph: 017-82 71-4 256, or email: semadar@ucb.com

Directions: Drive off M6 at J15 and turn left at the roundabout. Carry on to next roundabout and turn right. Clayton Community Centre is just along on the left about 200meters. Drive into the car park.

New Zealand Seminar - 22nd November, 2003:

The seminar will be held at 10am till 4:30pm with a break for lunch between 12.30 and 2pm at Lyndridge Labradors, 878 Clevedon Road, R.D.2, Papakura, Auckland. You should arrive at about 9.45 so we can settle the dogs and get started at 10am sharp.

Payment of $40 per person must be paid with a booking to hold your place and is non-refundable. Places are limited and on first-come, first-served basis, or your name will go on a waiting list in case of a cancellation. If you wish to come without a dog the cost is $15.

The training is based on positive reinforcement, using operant conditioning. The aim is to get your dog to volunteer behaviour rather than being forced to do it. Your dog will love this training, as he will think he is in control but really you are.

Do not feed your dog before coming to the seminar unless you are bringing a very young puppy. Bring plenty of very small treats such as cooked diced liver, sausages, cheese, cat biscuits or anything the dog loves to eat. Also bring a favourite toy the dog loves to play with.

No check chains are to be used and dogs must come with normal leather or nylon collars and leads. Clickers will be provided and poop bags will be available.

If possible bring a crate or something to tie the dog to in the shade during lecture time and video. No dogs are to be left in cars.

No dogs with aggression problems are permitted at seminar in the safety of others. This is purely a seminar to introduce and follow up new simple positive, non-aggressive way of training dogs. Any behaviour problems can be discussed afterwards.

Please bring current proof of vaccination or send a copy with registration to: Training seminar, C/- L Wilson, Lyndridge Labradors, 878 Clevedon Road, R.D.2, Papakura.
