THIS book contains really beautiful photographs as well as short descriptions of 200 dog breeds. It is the kind of book that you could leave on your coffee table for visitors to thumb through - its
presentation is excellent.
There are several photographs of each breed, and all are sharp and beautifully in focus.
If you are really looking for a book with tons of information about a breed you can not quite make up your mind on, then you will not get that level of information in this book - the breeds are described in only a basic manner and you will find the book disappointing if you want more than the basics.
Legacy of the Dog, however, does not claim to be a goldmine of breed information. It is simply a photographic description and basic guide to dog breeds with some very interesting breed history added to show readers why particular breeds were developed and what they were used for.
If you just love dogs and enjoy learning about different breed traits and features this book is for you - the pictures almost come to life in their excellence. - EP
