Collie owners - beware!
 |
| The collie is the latest dog reported to have been bought for export to China - and from all accounts bought not by an Asian but by an opportune apology for a Kiwi. It is saddening to know that even one New Zealander could sink so low in the moral stakes. |
IT has been brought to the attention of K9 Perspective that an 'agent' for Chinese dog buyers, who lives in Rotorua, has been buying rough coated collies around New Zealand and has already exported 12 unfortunates to contacts in China.
We must assume that those who have sold their dogs to this mercenary piece of excrement have no idea that their beautiful dogs will end up in China as breeding machines for meat and fur traders. These animals will live entirely in cages under squalid conditions, they will be bred at every cycle and when they can breed no longer will be part of the next week's fur quota.
This 'agent' has already been refused membership of the New Zealand Kennel Club and from reports reaching us has been attempting to join the local Collie Club... suggesting that said agent has the hide and arrogance of a rhinoceros! He has also shown an interest in Border Collies.
Collie owners - please be suspicious and insist on knowing everything possible about anyone to whom you contemplate selling any of your stock. Report any suspicions to both your club and the kennel club, and keep your dogs and pups safe from yet another exposed New Zealand predator.
Because of such people being able to operate freely in this country a warning must also go out to breeders in other countries - if you are approached from someone in New Zealand about buying a dog, be very aware and very careful about that person. Do not sell to anyone here without confirming that they are genuine breeders/show owners. Ask the NZ Kennel Club about the person concerned, then double check with the breed clubs.
