Ardmore all breeds Easter show

IN spite of showery weather on Easter Sunday the four days of showring activity along with indoor agility competition were not interrupted at the Auckland Kennel Club's Ardmore grounds.

Competition was tough and the standard high, but most dogs seemed to be enjoying the weekend of maximum attention, grooming, walks around the grounds, praise from strangers and plenty of tasty rewards for standing proud.

This Dogue de Bordeaux means business Tiniest chihuahua at the show

The Dogue de Bordeaux above had the sleekest style of any, while the little chihuahua, above right, was by far the tiniest dog in the show and at 14 months old she was an adult dog.

On the right the boxer who seemed to have all the character in the world wanted to know about everything in view.

Beagle boys Happy to wait while owners chat
Patience personified Above left, the beagles are ready to go at any time, while the Newfoundlands above are happy to wait, no matter how long their owners chat. The great Dane on the left is also a model of patience.
Out for a walk Time for a walk
Above, these terriers are the best of friends and decided on a walk together. Another pup out for a walk is this young Old English sheepdog above right. The little West Highland terrier at right however, was not fond of walking - cuddling was more her style.
