Life saving dog wins another award

Coolest canine at restCANINE Partners For Independence dog, Endal, has been given official recognition as 'The UK's Coolest Canine'.

Endal, who lives with his owner Allen Parton, a Gulf War veteran who is confined to a wheelchair, was chosen a clear winner as the dog worthy of the title, The UK's Coolest, by readers of K9 Magazine and users of the dog website K9Online.com, both owned and produced by K9 Media Solutions Ltd.

Endal, a Canine Partners For Independence assistance dog, was submitted by his owner Allen Parton. The extremely worthwhile winner helps Allen with the daily tasks that life brings.

Allen says Endal's the coolest because: "He has saved my life in so many ways, he never judges my disability, he gives me the ability to achieve in life. He has dragged me back from a 'pit of despair' and has kept on dragging to this very day. I wouldn't be here today if it were not for his unconditional love and devotion".

Endal picked up his award at a charity fundraising event sponsored by Iams, held at the pet-friendly Renaissance Hotel, Derby/Nottingham on February 21, 2003.

The ever-popular pooch adds this award to a growing collection that includes the highly prestigious Peace Time Dicken Medal, presented to him by HRH Princess Alexandra for his 'devotion to duty'.

Endal beat off competition from hundreds of equally talented pets including a wind-surfing cocker spaniel and a Staffordshire bull terrier who was claimed to have the world's loudest dog-snore.

The loveable Lab collects, as part of his prize package, a year's supply of pet food donated by Iams, a year's free pet insurance donated by Direct Line Pet Insurance, a specially commissioned portrait, his own website and the chance to be a K9 Magazine cover dog.

The Coolest Canine Awards ceremony incorporated a four-course meal and an auction in aid of the extremely worthwhile charity, Hearing Dogs For Deaf People. It was hosted by a "special guest". Further information can be obtained by visiting www.coolestcanine.com
